Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4 1954. O'Hara has been awarded a range of awards, including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also won two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara first made her appearance as an actor in 1974 when she was part of The Second City, an Improv comedy group in Toronto. Alongside John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd first began working in Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic acting and writing abilities and was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for the Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was appointed to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
